Louise Auger - BDS(Birm) GDC Reg. 63828

Louise studied dentistry at Birmingham University and graduated in 1988. She Initially worked in general dental practice in Ashford and Rochester before establishing a domiciliary dental service in the Medway towns. She then took an extended career break to be a full time mother to her three Children and returned to Hospital Lane Dental Clinic in 2001.

Louise has now concentrated her practice on specialist dental radiography and in particular cone beam CT scanning. 3D dental imaging, using cone beam CT technology, is a rapidly developing field in dentistry where its 3D images, used in conjunction with sophisticated software, are invaluable for the diagnosis of problems and the planning of remedial treatment, especially for implants. Louise enjoys helping patients understand their scans and discussing the results with them. Having had the opportunity to view their scans patients are better able to understand the proposed treatments and to ask questions of their clinician so that they are fully informed before their treatment begins.

Louise is a Biodynamic Craniosacral practitioner (Craniosacral therapy is a gentle way of working with the whole body through light touch, it developed from osteopathy and identifies restrictions and tensions held in the body. The therapy’s aim is to support the body’s innate ability to rebalance, restore and heal itself. Craniosacral therapy can be very helpful in reducing stress and promoting a sense of calm in the body). As part of the team of dentists at the Clinic, Louise is often able to help patients understand why their dental problems have arisen and encourage them actively to take part in formulating a treatment plan with their dentist. This approach allows a greater level of understanding for patients and the achievement of the best long term outcome for their treatment.
